“The atmosphere of this event is so motivating, making me more optimistic about the future. It is also an excellent opportunity to see my good friends from the rehabilitation center,” said Ashot Tadevosyan, one of the guests at the FRF’s Annual Appreciation Night for the wounded soldiers.
On June 27, our annual event brought together hundreds of wounded soldiers and their doctors from Զինվորի Տուն Վերականգնողական Կենտրոն/ Zinvori Tun Rehabilitation Center, FRF board members, supporters, and benefactors from the United States, allowing our community to honor and recognize our heroes and their families and to celebrate the unwavering will and spirit of the Armenian soldier.FRF president Naz Atikian-Bashkijian used the opportunity to thank the heroes, announcing that the Family Rescue Fund will continue to support them in every aspect of their lives.
“Special thanks to Naz, whose every visit to Armenia becomes a great opportunity for joy for all of us,” said the rector of the Yerevan State Medical Institute and one of the founders of the Զինվորի Տուն Վերականգնողական Կենտրոն/ Zinvori Tun Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Armen Muradyan.
Addressing the soldiers, Naz mentioned that she looks forward to this day every year. “FRF board members and I are delighted to be here. This is an exceptional event for the whole FRF family. It’s our opportunity to express something we feel daily in the US: sincere gratitude to you—our veterans and their families. Your service and sacrifice have kept our country safe and free. We’re particularly excited to be hosting more than 100 soldiers today. Thank you for accepting our invitation and making us all happy with your presence.” Many famous singers performed during the event.
Beloved singer Nune Yesayan prepared a pleasant surprise. She invited wounded soldiers Ashot and Adam to perform the song “Armenia” that she wrote after the war. Yesayan met the boys during the FRF’s winter event and, noticing their talent, offered singing lessons. The result was touching for everyone present at the event.
