With the generous support of the FRF community, we raised over $200 thousand during our annual gala on November 13th. All proceeds will go to the veterans and their families. Our soldiers who received various injuries in the Artsakh wars continue their treatment and rehabilitation. At the same time, they have the challenge of adapting to new life conditions. FRF has provided financial support for solving wounded soldiers’ health, social, and housing problems for several years.
Funds provided by FRF were used for the construction and renovation of medical facilities and renovation of apartments for disabled veterans, especially those living in the regions of Armenia. FRF also allocated money to help with rent & utility payments and contributed soldiers to start their businesses.
Speaking on behalf of FRF, Board member Berj Chorlian mentioned that the recipients are so valuable that what we do is not a charity, but an absolute privilege, to give our veterans everything they need.
In Armenia, FRF cooperates with the Zinvori Tun, which is the only healthcare institution in Armenia that provides comprehensive support to veterans. About 7 thousand wounded soldiers have received medical care since 2016. The keynote speaker, LA County Superior Court Judge Armenui Amy Ashvanian, shared her impressions of visiting the Zinvori Tun this summer at Naz’s invitation. «I witnessed the hope & positive energy our soldiers have. They talked about the future and their plans. It gave me hope, and I promised Naz I would be a lifelong supporter of FRF.”
Gala 2022 was also an opportunity to thank the donors. “Butterfly shadow boxes” made by the wounded soldiers were gifted to FRF’s major donors to appreciate their ongoing support. Ara Mahdessian, one of the main benefactors of FRF, emphasized the importance of always being grateful to our heroes.
Special thanks to our hosts, performers & sponsors. @michaelaram @lepapillonbynaz @crystal_bartenders @rentalavenue.
