FRF president and board members spent the 4th of July with the wounded Armenian soldiers at the event organized by the Family Rescue Fund together with the Զինվորի Տուն Վերականգնողական Կենտրոն/ Zinvori Tun Rehabilitation Center, and the Megerian Carpet Armenia.
The event took place at the Megerian Carpet Cultural Complex, which is also a unique museum of Armenian carpets. Soldiers and guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of Armenian carpet weaving art and see exclusive samples of old Armenian carpets.
The collaboration of these three organizations is not new, as Haykuhi Minasyan, director of the Zinvori Tun, also mentioned. “At Megerian Carpet Company, our soldiers handwoven the first carpet sold during the FRF fundraiser Gala 2019 in Los Angeles. It was our first joint initiative that continues today. Our work is possible mainly thanks to our benefactors from Diaspora. They have supported @zinvori.tun financially and with their constant physical and spiritual presence,” Minasyan noted.
Raffi Megeryan, the owner of the Megeryan company, and Karen Ayvazyan, the director, thanked the soldiers for their bravery.FRF president Naz Atikian-Bashkijian mentioned that she spent 21 days in Armenia, mainly with the soldiers, and was very happy to see smiles on their faces.
Lilit Melikyan, the founder-director of the Teryan Cultural Center, gave souvenir coins with images of Armenian churches to the soldiers and benefactors. Famous singers and FRF friends Shushan Petrosyan, Nune Yesayan, and Arpi performed during the event, and wounded soldiers joined them with their songs. Our wounded homeland defenders thanked FRF representatives for the beautiful events they organized during the visit.
